Zimbelman Construction LLC, was established in June of 1992 by Tony and Judy Zimbelman. Prior to that time, Tony had spent ten years as president of Simpson and Son, Inc., a medium size general contractor, specializing in schools, churches, office buildings and government facilities.
One of the first priorities for the company was to get active in the Wichita Area Builders Association. We felt like being associated with other builders, trade partners and associates with a common goal of supporting their industry, would only enhance our ability to be successful in our building business. That turned out to be one of the best decisions we could have made.
The relationships we have made through WABA have allowed us to assemble a team of trade partners, material suppliers, vendors and associates, that have enabled us to meet our "treat people right" goals, and have allowed our company to be a success. Most of our trade partners have been with us in excess of ten years, and a few of them have been with us since the start.

Tony has continually served the Association by accepting leadership roles when asked. He has been active on the local, state and the national levels, through the National Association of Homebuilders, a 140,000 member trade association located in Washington, DC. Listed below are a few of the committees and boards Tony has served on, and some of the awards he has received, during his service over the last twenty five years:
Local (WABA) & State (KBIA) National (NAHB)

Tony has also learned the value of continuing education in the building industry. He has served on local and national education committees for several years, and was instrumental in forming a partnership between WABA and the Wichita Area Technical College, which allowed their students to get hands on training by constructing site built homes while going through the carpentry program.
Tony has also spent many hours in the classroom acquiring designations through NAHB's University of Housing. He earned his Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) designation in 2008, joining a select group of 2,000 professional builders nationwide to have completed this program. This designation identifies him, and his company, as one of the building industry's top professionals. Tony has also completed training to acquire the Certified Green Professional (CGP) designation. This designation will allow Zimbelman Construction, LLC, to expand their building operations into the "green building" era, and we look forward to facing that challenge in the future.
Tony has been an authroized OSHA instructor since 2011. He uses this training to instruct WABA members on the value of using safe practices in the work place.
